New to Pilates based rehab or looking to revamp your approach?
Pilates Essentials for Physiotherapists is a hybrid course (online modules + face to face practical session) that provides clinicians with an easy to apply approach to the use of Pilates within Physiotherapy. With a focus on the initial phases of musculoskeletal injury management, this online course will guide you through the clinical reasoning, design and implementation of a comprehensive Pilates based rehabilitation program for a range of common presentations.
By exploring the origins of Contrology and the current evidence base for exercise therapy, you will examine the role Pilates plays within today’s biopsychosocial model of healthcare. You will be guided through several online modules discussing the latest evidence base for injury prevention and management, motor learning and Pilates exercises (mat, reformer, chair and trapeze table). Pilates exercise technique and adaptations for different clinical populations and performance goals, clinical indications and their coaching is also discussed. You will then complete a face to face, practical workshop that covers the coaching and adaptation of a range Pilates exercises suitable during injury rehabilitation as well as exploring the programming of Pilates exercises for various clinical presentations. Lastly, on online Q&A session allows course attendees to further discuss aspects of the course material with course presenter John Contreras.
Pilates Essentials for Physiotherapists will have you ‘Monday ready’ to start coaching your patients with a novel approach to Pilates training.
Pilates Essentials for Physiotherapists has been designed for clinicians looking to up skill in the use of Pilates as well as Pilates experienced clinicians looking for a new approach. All health professionals, students and new graduates are welcome.
