What kind of Pilates exercises are covered in the workshops?

Our workshops cover a variety of both matwork and equipment exercises. The equipment used include  the Reformer,  Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair and small equipment such as Swiss Balls and other bits and pieces commonly used in Pilates. The exercises are those most commonly used within a Physiotherapy framework. So though they may not get you much social media kudos, your patients will benefit from them.

What kind of Strength & Conditioning exercises are covered in the workshops?

Our workshops cover exercises that use common strength training equipment such as barbells, dumbbell, power bands and kettlebell. We aim to discuss a range of options for each movement to suit the different type of clinics our attendees work in. Don't have a squat rack in your clinic - not a problem, we'll go through many other effective options with you. We aim to keep things simple and effective and focus on the exercises the large majority of your patients will be able to perform.

Are the workshops more theoretical or practical?

At John Contreras Physio we like to move. There is only so much sitting around that we can tolerate during a workshop. So we have designed workshops that keep you moving too. All our workshops are at least 70% practical, giving you the opportunity to learn the content. We aim to keep the theory during the workshop to the most important information and we'll provide you with some pre-reading beforehand.
