Gain the confidence and skill to strength train your patients.
Strength Training Essentials for Physiotherapists is an online and on-demand course that provides clinicians with an easy to apply approach to the use of strength training within injury management and progressing towards return to activity. This short course will guide you through the clinical reasoning, design and implementation of a comprehensive strength training and athletic development program for a range of common musculoskeletal presentations.
By exploring current rehabilitation and injury management guidelines, evidence-based exercises, concepts of exercise prescription and program design you will examine the role strength training plays within today’s biopsychosocial model of healthcare. This short course looks beyond the initial phases of injury management to examine the use of strength training for a range of common musculoskeletal presentations in facilitating return to activity.
You will be guided through a number of online modules discussing the latest evidence base for injury prevention, injury management and motor learning. In addition, you will complete several online workshops covering a broad range of strength training exercises, exploring their technique and adaptations for different clinical populations and performance goals, clinical indications and their coaching. You will also consider the role exercise dosage plays in facilitating the specific performance goals of improved endurance, strength, power and agility.
Strength Training Essentials for Physiotherapists will have you ‘Monday ready’ to start coaching your patients with a novel approach to strength training.
This workshop is targeted to all health professionals routinely involved in the use of exercise therapy. This includes new and recent graduates, through to the experienced clinician looking to refresh their approach. All health and fitness professionals, students and new graduates are welcome.
